I've always created new sub-folders by selecting a folder and hitting F8, but when I tried it today, a message came up in the status bar saying "New item creation failed"


How can I restore the New Item Creation functionality?

some folders are out of bounds because of permissions and security constraints. Try creating a folder in a simple folder like %TEMP% or inside my documents, does it work there?
