When I enter some letters in the filter bar (I'm not sure about the words), the content of the folder is filtered: I see only the files and folders with the letters I've wroten.
I select another folder, the filter-word is still here, I click on the funnel, and the 2nd folder is filtered.
I select a third folder, the filter-word is still here but the funnel no longer works.

how to keep the filter active?

this is meant to be a transient filter. What I do is quickly remove or add a letter to fool it into working again
