Forgive my post as I know this has been asked before - but rather than revive an ancient thread I thought it better to start a new one...
I moved 'Documents', 'Pictures' and other Libraries to a NAS drive (so they can be accessed by more than one computer) and updated all my bookmarks to point at them. I then set all the icons to "Default" and they displayed as expected. However, if the NAS cannot be found due to a network error all the bookmark icons get reset to "Plain" and I have to reset them manually one at a time.
Is this as expected or am I being a numpty by missing a procedure somewhere?

Re: NAS Drive Bookmark Icons after Network Failure
this is always a problem with information stored in networks that may not always be available
there are 2 ways out of the problem, either assign custom icons to your bookmarks, stored locally somewhere, or disable "save settings on exit"
then you'd need to manually save changes in your settings, if you make any

Thanks Nikos - I will go with the 2nd option and manually save any settings changes.
