Collapse All

I'm searching for this topic: "collapse all" expanded folders and I don't see how. There are some pretty old discussions on the forum but they don't seem to apply.

From 2008 is this comment: "to collapse all, click on the [+] right under desktop node" But I don't see any [+] so it cannot apply. (and I don't know what the desktop node is).

I sometimes end up with a whole bunch of expanded directories in the [folders] pane. It would be helpful if there was a hotkey (or optimally an icon on the taskbar) to collapse all open drives back to the root.

Is this possible?

Thanks Richard

nowadays instead of a plus [+] tree nodes have a DOWN arrow next to the icon, click on that to collapse the node
alternatively, press the LEFT arrow key to collapse the selected node

Yes, of course.

However I wondered if one could do that without having to scroll up to the top of the expanded list of sub-folders - i.e. to collapse the tree from anywhere in the tree.

Could there be a "collapse all" function in the 'folders' pane?

try pressing HOME key to get to the top of the tree then use left arrow key to collapse it
