x2 froze and I had to finally select the option to close the program. When I restart and click Help > Crash Information, the message "There is no crash dump file for this program version." appears on the status bar. When is a crash dump file generated?

there won't be a crash dump when there is no crash
next time it happens try to create a hung dump as explained here
