un-hide a folder

Post by Manyx »

I use layouts.
But today, my default layout as changed : there is no disk in the tree (I see them in the panel at the right and in the mini-scrap).

How to un-hide them? I dont find in the manual, and in the panel there is no option to hide.

Why this layout has changed?

thank you,

usually changes are user-initiated :)

OK, I've searched in "layouts" but it's in "tree", of course...

I don't know how I could have hiden 3 disks

But:
C: and E: are allready unhided (2 hard Drives)
D: (CD - DVD) is hiden. But after unhiden it, when I "use black list", I don't see it.

And I don't see C: and E:

Now C:, D: and E: are un-hiden, but I don't see them.

When I use blacklist:

don't use blacklist:

C:, D: and E: are not hiden but I don't see them
the other folders are hiden (it is my choice)
Dropbox is not hiden (it is my choice)

cancel the blacklist, then use the right click menu to un-hide all the folders you want to appear, then apply the blacklist again
see the manual link above for more details

I unhide all, and I can see all items in "use blaklist" view.

I hide what I wan't to hide, and now it's OK.

Thanks

Hi,
Since my last message, this problem has come back 4 or 5 times.
Am I doing something wrong?

it's hard to say... do you have the tree blacklist enabled?

Yes. It works everydays, excepts one time about each 2 month

No, but I still have 2 windows open, identical, the same one launched twice.

It doesn't work at all anymore:
- I uncheck "use blacklist", I see all the folders.
- I hide all the folders I don't want to see. I keep "desktop\Dropbox" and "desktop\Ce PC (in French)\E:"
- I save with the "Window" menu, "Save Layout"
- I close with ALT+X
- I reopen, and there's only "desktop\Dropbox", as every time I've had this problem.
I tried several times, I restarted the computer, without success.
I tried overwriting a layout and creating a new one: same thing.

Should I reinstall xplorer²? Uninstall it first?

if you used SAVE LAYOUT you created a new window style so to speak
if you don't have the latest xplorer2 version, your newly created layout must be selected from WINDOW menu. Then you should see your blacklist customizations

I use "save layout" and choose the name of an existing layout; it overwrites the old one. I've always done that. The problem is, when I reboot, I choose this "layout," and a folder is missing (out of the two I had kept).
It's been working since the beginning, except a few times a year, and now it's not working anymore.
This is version 6.1.0.2.
