My home PC is a Win98SE, the one at work is XP.
The clickable pathbars does show in the XP box but i had a bad surprise when i ran x2 at home
No pathbars, not at all. I just downloaded it this friday, unzipped it and ran it from the same folder than the previous version. Then i closed it and deleted the registry key. Ran it again, no pathbars again.
Are they a XP thing only?

Have you looked in the alpha.txt file? It mentions how to turn on the bars.
Look in the registry and see what the number is. I have 11(decimal) or b (hex) and I can see the pathbars.TITLE BAR. The controversy regarding individual pane title bars is now over. If you want each pane to show its path just add the number 8 (DPF_SHOWHEADERS) to the mainframe's binDualPaneFlags registry value. Without it you get the minimalist display with the complimentary headache trying to figure out which @"%$% path you are browsing

Actually it's weirder
After 8 hours of much needed sleep I found that the problem is in fact that the version I downloaded was the prior, or at least it seem so...
The about dialog displays this 0.0.0.38 @@@ALPHA!!! the readme says it is the alpha version.
THE WEIRD THING IS that i used the same link to download both files... i'll just try harder to download it.
heh, this reminds me of this comic
