Is there an option to control how many recent files will be saved in the Recent File list under File?

I believe that what you request can only be done by tweaking the registry. (The default number of files to keep on the "recent" list is 4.)
If you are familiar with registry editing ...
1. quit Editor²
2. Start | Run... | regedit
3. navigate to the Recent Document List key under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc\Editor2
to change the number of files to keep, edit the value for the key DocumentCount
or, to remove all files from the "recent" list, just delete the Recent Document List key. (Editor² will recreate the key with an empty list the next time it starts.)
