Deleting files
Is it just me or is it not possible to delete a folder by clicking on it in the *tree view* and selecting delete? xplorer2 always claims some program is using the folder if I do that, but I have no problem deleting it if I click on it in the *pane view*.
No, it's not just you.
(and this topic has been much discussed)
The issue is that in many cases, when you click on a folder in the treepane, the folder is immediately opened in the active filepane, and 'focus' is shifted to it. This 'locks' the folder or an item in it, thus inhibiting deletion.
There are a couple of way to permit deletion from the treepane:
One way is to unselect the Single click to change focus... option on the Window tab of Tools | Options ... you still won't be able to delete the current active folder from the tree; only other folder(s) you click on, but don't activate.
The other way is to make the registry tweak for GIOPT_NOSETCURDIR as described in registry.txt.
Or you can simply ignore the issue and only make folder deletions from the active filepane.
