I have two ideas pertaining to the thumbnail viewer. Have the thumbnail viewer behind the icons for the folder fiew and have the icons be semi transparent. You could have thumbnails in both pains.

The other idea is to support alpha blending in the thumbnail window.

The bug is that your icon handling looks funny with the drive bar and XP icons with shadows.

the drivebar looks crap in XP due to its lowly 16 colours (I'll address that in the future). The thumbnail on the other hand is fine if you keep it docked

alpha blending is fine but platforms before w2000 don't have it, so I wouldn't consider it
