Saving layouts help

Post by mikes1616 »

Hello-

I am having trouble saving the states of my panes - most likely it is because I am new to the tool.

Pane1: A directory

Pane2: 2 tabs, each a different directory

I want to save this as a layout.  The problem is that when I save it, Pane2 is correct but Pane1 appears to be a random directory.

Thanks for any help.

the layouts and the specific folders are unrelated. Layout includes everything except the particular folders. The latter can be set by command line or as a folder group (also set by command line, possibly)

see the quickstart guide for more info on the available command line arguments

Hello-

Thanks for the reply.

I have been through the quickstart guide, and I am still confused, my apologies.

I edited the "description" of the layout I am looking for to include the following:

$LC:\Documents and Settings\mstamper\My Documents\My Downloads\WoW Apps

I tried a variation with a space between $L and the filepath.

For some reason this left panel comes in 2 levels deeper than this path.

The good news is the right panel which contains a folder layout always comes in perfect.

I guess I am still missing something.

Try the following command-line:

xplorer2_UC.exe "Full Directory Path" "Folder Group Name"

In your case:

xplorer2_UC.exe "C:\Documents and Settings\mstamper\My Documents\My Downloads\WoW Apps" "folder group name for right pane"

Of course, you must create, name and save your folder group first.

Hope this helps.
