Searching Photos JPG by Keywords help

Post by admsupport »

In "My Pictures" folder
A photos set named: OP 01.jpg to OP 15.jpg
On the "Summary" tab of the photo properties (F12) "Keywords" field: Olivier; Polin; Osaka; 2005
View: Thumbnails

When I search from the photos by file name:OP = instant result.
When I create an aditional rule to search only by keywords:
Image
No matter the keyword (Olivier or Polin or 2005) the search result is empty.

it works for me!
try clearing all filter first then just set rules on keywords and see how it goes. Don't put any spaces around your search terms

to troubleshoot filter problems, in a scrap windown use Tools > Search status to see what is the total filter xplorer2 last used

One more try and same result!!

Searching for your blogs

Search within: D:\My Documents\E Soft
Parameters: Subfolders, Depth first
FILTER DETAILS
Matching items: Folders, Files
[AND] Author contains "Nikos Bozinis"

returned all the saved blogs :)

However (again) searching the same blogs by Keywords

Search within: D:\My Documents\E Soft
Parameters: Subfolders, Depth first
FILTER DETAILS
Matching items: Folders, Files
[AND] Keywords contains "2007"

Search returned nothing

Why? Why? Why? I cannot use Keywords in my seach string

Yes, properties window. I did another try, from Windows Explorer (Alt+Enter) for one photo and from X2 (F12) for the other, make no difference. When I search for Keywords: no result.

Where do I send the photos?

Thanks, they are Japanese buncho (Java sparrow in English).

Q. when we send direct attachments by email is the ads preserved?

Your answer gave me a hint   and I checked in Explorer: Keywords column does not appear (the same keyword entries appear on the X2 keywords column  , but search from keywords return a negative result)

Web search with the same issue: No solution but several posts:

Do we have a similar config: XPPro, sp2?

I send back the pics in a .rar archive with "save data stream" option. Can you see the Keywords?

Re-confirm if you can search any type of files from their KEYWORDS with a positive result on your side.
If so, I am bad :(

I don't think re-installing X2 will change a thing.
Only re-installing XP would :(   :(

Any idea if either of these two features could be involved (I doubt it thoug)?

a. Split Stream in X2
b. Streams.exe from sysinternal

New INFO:

I have just tried with my JP roommate's prehistorical desktop (xp pro JAPANESE version, sp2) it is outside my LAN, Explorer only, just a regular PC.

Created several files (.txt, .jpg) with keywords
Set details view, keyword column added to the view
On screen: Keywords column = No Show

All the other fields: author, comment, subject, etc. are visible but the keywords column???
Could it be a curse from my evil landlord?

look, in the end of the day, keywords or comments, it doesn't make a difference. If you set a comment and that works, then case closed. Probably there's a bug with japanese windows somewhere

I came to the same conclusion. I am using another filed instead Keywords.

BTW could you see the keywords on the photo this time or same result?
