shortcuts in 2x explorer in win XP spawn win explorer window

Post by washingtonfan »

Since installing Windows XP Pro, when I'm in 2x Explorer & click on nearly any shortcut to a folder or location, that folder or location opens in Windows Explorer. This does NOT happen when I click on an icon to an actual folder, only when I click on shortcuts. I know there's a way you've described in either release notes or on your web site to make windows default to 2x Explorer, but I actually don't want to do that, either - I like using Internet Explorer 6 to get around my system, too, & have built a (very primitive) html page just for that purpose. any suggestions? thx

that's weird! I'll have to look into it
what do you mean by "nearly any shortcut"?
are there any exceptions that consistently open in 2x as expected?

PS. Do you have the latest version Z1?

thanks, Nikos. I'm running Z1 Omega Product Build: 1.4.1.12
all shortcuts to folder locations do this
I'm running winXP pro.

I blame you personally for this and for all my other problems :>)

i eventually managed to look into this, logging into an XP machine
unfortunately I can't reproduce this bug either in 2x or x2. All folder links open in the same program as they were designed to

if anybody else has problems with XP folder links please let me know!
