Find files misses files

I attempted to find a file named abc.doc (modified 10/17/09), which I finally located using the search feature in my old Norton File Manager.  It turned out to be in C:\Documents and Settings\CHS\Local Settings\Temp.

Before resorting to NFM, I'd tried using X2 to find it.  I used the following search criteria:
Look in: C:\
Search subfolders
Named: *.do* AND Modified date between 10/12/09 and 10/18/09.

X2 didn't find it.  However when I used the same search criteria but specified Look in: C:\Documents and Settings\CHS\Local Settings, it *did* find it.  Why didn't it find the file in the more general search?

xplorer2 uses a default search blacklist which includes the "local settings" folder. If you want to search in there either pick it as the root of the search or remove it from the blacklist in this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc\xplorer2.global\Find Blacklist

Thanks - I'd forgotten about the blacklist.
