Persistent filter?

Is there a way to make a visual filter persist across invocations? I know I can go to the filter history list and set one up quickly, but I find that when I want any filter at all I usually want the same one (*.c,*.h,*.cpp) and would like it to be "pre-loaded" and immediately available via the Toggle command (which is an excellent shortcut, IMO)

2x doesn't remember filters very well
but it's a good idea to have [Ctrl+J] always available, setting the filter last used in a previous run
