think i found a bug in xplorer2. one that doesn't seem to be present in 2xExplorer
if i give a folder the system attribute (through command prompt) after i re-open the folder in x2 i can no longer right click to perform shell_new actions.
if i take the system attribute off, things go back to normal. gotta use the sys flag to custom folder icons going (which speed up navigation as well as just looking cool).
relavent system info:
win2000sp3, ie6, litestep 0.24.6 (normally no explorer.exe in memory)
