Incorrect sort by filename in 2xExplorer in WinXP

Post by kblood »

It seems to do some sort of cyclic sorting.

It begins correctly, but halfway through the list, files start to appear again from the beginning of the alphabet.

I'm puzzled... I haven't found any post regarding this.

Any tips?

most probably you are puzzled about zipfolders
they are folders in XP and as such sorted up there with the rest of the folders

I have never felt so stupid in (most of the days of) my life...

It was that, of course... I thought I had it already disabled...

Well yeah, in my defense, I will state the following ;)

The icons being shown for the zipfolder files were the icons for the associated program. That made me think that obviously zipfolder management by XP was disabled.

So I unregistered the DLL, and then 2xExplorer behaved as I wanted it to. But after a few minutes, the DLL re-registered itself by some unknown "miracle" of XP... and 2xExplorer showed the zip files among the folders again.

Finally I unregistered the DLL again, and renamed it to avoid "miracles"...

End of the story, one more happy 2xExplorer user!!!

Wonderful piece of software, by the way!!!!
