xPlorer Pro - Search Language

Post by soonerlater »

Where is the search language/syntax of xPlorer documented? I've spent considerable time searching the online help PDF, but don't find the where the search language/syntax is documented.

there is not much of a syntax but this will help you understand how to search for multiple keywords with boolean connotation
www.zabkat.com/blog/02Dec07.htm
the newer deskrule handles keywords in an easier manner like everyone expects in google search

I've read the PDF from page 139 onward a few times; read Nikos's blog about search and browsed the Online Help, but I still can't find what I'm looking for: how can I find files whose basename contains one or more period? By basename, I refer to everything the filename except the extension and the period/dot separator.

first you must go to your control panel > folder options and make sure you hide extensions for known file types. Then add a rule for the NAME property (but not the stock name, you must find it from additional rules), and in that put just a .

I'm trying to find files with names like

Doctor.Who.(2005).-.s06e13.-.The.Wedding.of.River.Song.mkv

but not
