Thumbnail support for RAW image files...

Post by TsunamiZ »

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

PowerToy: Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP adds thumbnail support to RAW image files in Windows Explorer.

Is it possible to add thumbnail support for RAW image files in x2 after users install the Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP?  Thanks.

whatever you see in explorer you should be able to see in x2
if these RAW files are big check your thumbnail size limit in tools | options | general

I already have unlimited size by setting to 0.  But the RAW thumbnails still don't show in x2.  :?

and you are saying that you can see thumbnails of RAW files in windows explorer? That's weird, have you tried a reboot?

It works in Windows Explorer and I have rebooted.  But RAW thumbnails still don't work in x2.   :?

I don't have any other file manager besides x2 and Windows Explorer.  :?

But yesterday, I started using XnView [ www.xnview.com ].  It's an image file viewer that also has a built-in file browser.  The RAW thumnails work in that browser, although I'm not sure if XnView supported it in the first place [since I didn't test RAW thumbnails in XnView before installing the PowerToy].

try this one:
use any file open or save box (standard windows dialog from any program that saves files) and switch it to thumbnail view: does it show RAW files? For other file managers you can try 2xExplorer from www.netez.com/2xExplorer

That works.  I just tried that with notepad.  Still doesn't work in x2, though.

I didn't try another file browser.  However, I just finished a 4 day reformat and restore on my PC, so my system is now in pristine shape.  But the RAW thumbnails PowerToy still only works in Windows Explorer thumbnails and not in x2.  So I think this points to some issue with x2.  :?
