Advanced rename tool to use with xplorer2 - but 64-bit

Problem:

I had the need to do some renaming which the mass renamer of xplorer2 could not handle featurewise (case conversion to lowercase) as far as i can see.

Searching the forums there is mostly pointing to mrename which integrates fine into xplorer2.
However - there is a catch. Not being updated for a long time its just a 32-bit extension hence we 64-bit users are out of luck.


Solution:

In search for a replacement i came over a tool called

  "BulkRenameUtility"

 
This nice tool is available as a full blown program or as a commandline version which i used for my needs. I just added a "custom user command" to my xplorer2 for it and thats it. Adding it to the toolbar then gives me my one-click rename to lowercase resolution.

Of course its free.   (Donations welcome as usual)

I have used Bulk Rename Utility but I don't really like its interface much... too busy. For interactive renaming beyond the scope of the built-in renamer I am mostly using Ken Rename. But my favorite renamer is awxRename, it allows you to setup a context submenu of renaming options and there is a 64 bit version available.

With a GUI i am using LupasRename (old but good and simple interface).

I don´t care about the GUI of BulkRename i only needed a commandline renamer and there the options are quite easy to go through.

Not to vent on the author because everyone putting out his work for free deserve the highest respect, but awxrename is something i would not have tested if i stumbled over the homepage. No screenshots, no real info. So its one of those i would only test on recommendation like yours in this case.  :-)

My vote goes to Bulk Rename Utility. I've yet to find any abstract rename that I want to do that it can't handle. The interface is a bit busy but as they say, "With great power comes great [numbers of buttons]."

When it comes to renaming tool whether b 64 or 32 bit system I use n suggest BatchRenameFiles Tool for the task. Thanks
