Buttons for quick bookmarks

Post by wavy c »

When customising my toolbar in Xplorer2 lite, I found it a little difficult to figure out what some of the available buttons are for as there is no description. Then I discovered menu items with little icons beside them correspond with the toolbar buttons, so it is easy enough to read the descriptions from the status bar. :)

While playing around with this I came across the "Quick Bookmark" and "Set Quick Bookmark" feature, which seems very useful. I immediately thought this would be nice to have on the toolbar. However the only button available is for "Jump" (the star icon) which takes me to the previously set bookmark.

Would it make sense to have a matching button to set the bookmark? I remember reading somewhere in the help file that some buttons have a modifier key (ie, do something different if you hold down shift when pressing them) although I can't find this with any I'm using. Maybe "Quick Bookmark" and "Set Quick Bookmark" would be good candidates for this?

i would have told you to hold shift while clicking on that button but then we get the same problem as with shift+delete, separators inserted instead of the command

so there's no solution for you other than the keyboard!

Tnx Nikos! Wow, that was a fast reply :D

That's fine, the keyboard shortcut is pretty easy to learn (although I wonder if it might be worth providing a separate "set" button as I think this feature would be useful for many people).

Maybe I could ask another question?

Is is possible to have the original small ms media player (mplayer2.exe, ver6.4) used when previewing mp3 files. I much prefer this light player to the current big bloated one. (btw, ver 6.4 is what z2 uses if installed on win98)

The original v6.4 still comes included with Win XP, even though it doesn't appear in the start menu (Hit WinKey+R and type mplayer2 to start it).

I'm guessing the reason the big and bloated media player is used has something to do with file associations, but I'm a little puzzled as, on my computer, mp3 files are associated with Winamp.

Many tnx... 8)

if you don't need/want wmp7/9 why don't you uninstall it?

Hmmm... well that would be one way. I might try doing so as ver 7/9 is one program I would never use by choice. That said, it does work fine to preview mp3 files and I guess I'm just being picky!
