For example: rename myfile.doc to mifile.doc

the short answer would be no!
the longer answer would be:
instead of mass rename, use a script ctrl+B with the ren command
try a rename template that somehow resembles what you're trying to do and then edit the resulting script; then you can do regular search and replace like as if it was a text document
