Trying to use the quickview, I find that all my Word documents (.doc) are showing up as numbers - program language? - I cannot read the text nor am I able to edit the documents. Interestingly enough, .rtf documents show up perfectly as text in the quick view window. And I can edit them.
What am I doing wrong? Are there some settings I need to change? Help!?

As mentioned in the QuickStart Guide,
The quick viewer can show text (including RTF, Unicode and UTF-8), graphics, HTML, office documents, even audio and video files.
However, as mentioned elsewhere on the forum, the previewing of MS Office documents is possible only if the document was saved with the "show preview" option turned on, and even then it is limited to the first page.
In other words, you are doing nothing wrong -- the office docs you can't preview were simply saved with the preview page disabled. If these are docs you have created, just turn that feature on when you save them. They will be bigger as a result, but they will be previewable.
