ive used 2x exploere for a long long time. i loved it. now the new ones here! yippie! its missin my lil drive bar tho...anyway, what i was gonna say is, is it posable to change hte colors? a blairing white screen at 2 am is kinda ruff on the eyes. theres some other programs out there that come with a black background, or a color panel so ya can change the colors. would this be possable to, uhh, impliment in the future?
other than that suggestion, i love it. its alot better than windows exploder, and faster.
im gonna play withthis thing a bit more, thanks for makin such a dandy lil neat gadget!
tick
suggestion, maybe

@ blaring white screen at 2am...
... I also have a 'vote' in for user-definable background settings in future for x2 active and tree panes.
Until that happens (if it ever does), you can always change the default window backgrond color for all apps via
Display Options | appearance | advanced | window & set an "other" color to something less annoying.
But this is extremely sensitive to personal preference -- what's nice for someone is not for another -- I use a heavy cream like color

Not exactly this request.
1003 brought a way to set the active pane heading color to match color1 of active window (like in 2x).
This request is for independently setting the active pane background color to be other than the windoze active window color.
While I can see it as being nice (not at all high priority), some others indicate a greater desire for this feature.
I cannot argue for user efficiency/usability improvement that might result from satisfying this request. That came with the 1-2 punch of inactive pane color setting & active pane heading color, both of which have been implemented.
But, I can recognize that a lot of folks find value in customising their tools -- whether from an artist's eye for color, or to "mark" the tool as their own, or just a personal need to be different.
As I see it, the benefit here might be to improve sales -- much like having an attractive ambience or aroma in a shop.

the window pain coloring was a great idea. i was always forgetting the ative one. thres a few other neat things in here that i like, gonna take more time using it to learn em. for years i was finding new things in 2xexplorer. hope this will be the same

i suggested the colors, not only fo me, being selfish and stuff, but...kinda like irc, you can change everything, colors and all, in irc. some peeps like blue backs and white riting, i like a black back with grey or white writing. its all personal preferance. the useability wont change, but it would be easier to match a windows theme, if you use them.

The good news is that with x2, you need not discover all the strengths gradually, "over the years": the User Manual makes your learning curve very steep. Of course, for more tricks, there are the FAQ and these forums. (Although you are using PRO, don't miss the Lite forum: it has thrown up some interesting issues.)for years i was finding new things in 2xexplorer. hope this will be the same
