I can't find an answer to this in the docs or other posts in the forum.
If I have dual panes and my focus is on the second pane, when I use control-O to switch back to a single pane, I'm left looking at the first pane. I want to be looking at the second pane where my focus had been.
Is that as intended? Or is there another key combination that will have me looking at the second pane?
Currently Crtl+O makes the left (or top) pane the single pane - and activates it even if the right (or bottom) pane had benn the active filepane. I agree that this is a bother. I would call it an oversight & hope that it will be addressed in a future update.
That's very helpful, thanks, though it seems more intuitive for the pane that has focus be the one retained when switching back to single pane. Call that a feature request.
The Ctrl+U suggestion is clearly the best workaround for this issue,
... and one can even restore the original pane order with a 2nd Ctrl+U after the subsequent Ctrl+O
{ for the un-initiated: Ctrl+U swaps the folderpane contents }
And for the record, even though I refered to the topic as an "issue", it was really more of a tacit feature request than an issue; because nothing is broken.
