Actually, the recycle bin is what M$ Explorer uses too to recover those accidentally deleted files. If you turn the bin off, you won't be able to recover from such a mishap in M$ Explorer at all.
It's the automatic use of recovering from the bin what's missing from X² in this case. If you slip up in X², you have to go to the recycle bin yourself and recover the lost file manually.
But as Fred says, general undo functionality would be even better. Perhaps, in the distant future...

I don't think recycle bin is good
Why I need undo? in my case, it is mostly because I hit a key or button carelessly, in this case I do not even notice the name of the deleted file! Just one file disappeared! argh...
Why? How do you think Ctrl+Z in M$ Explorer manages to recover your deleted file?
Right, it uses the recycle bin for that!! Disable the recylce bin and try to recover a deleted file using M$ Explorer through Ctrl+Z. You can't can you??
That's why the recycle bin is useful!!
The only thing is: you can't recover automatically from X² like you can in M$ Explorer. Maybe Nikos can do something about that. Regrettably, for the time being you have to do this by manually recovering the last deleted file through the recycle bin directly.
I find the ctl-Z undo key in windows explorer most useful when I am moving a file and accidently drop it into the wrong destination folder. Ctl-Z is a quick way to get it back, and it would certainly be nice to see this in xplorer2 lite.
I also agree that, in the case of deleting the wrong file, it is easy enough to retrieve it from the recycle bin. Even easier if you can remember to empty the recyle bin on a regular basis!
I have to agree that the "undo" key (rather than undelete) is probably one of the most useful MS Explorer functions that's missing from X2. Its very easy when dragging and dropping large amounts of data bit by bit to accidentally drop the file into the wrong folder and then its all down to search to discover which folder got used
Undo would also have the effect of undeleting if it had the same functionality as MS and correcting other errors created without thinking.
I have found that, when moving files, I seldom drop them in the wrong folder if I have the 'auto expand folders when hovering with the mouse' feature disabled.
The problem usually occurs when I am dropping files in a folder with subfolders. When I drag the files to be moved across the expand feature always seems to kick in at the exact moment I drop them - and then they go in the wrong folder.
Sorry to be posting to such an old thread, but I just had to comment.
When I first started using Windows 95 I got very annoyed with the way clicking and dragging files worked differently if dragging from folder to folder on different drives then from folder to folder on the same drive. So I learned to always use right-click when dragging files. This way when you release the mouse button the destination folder is high-lighted and a menu comes up asking if you want to copy/move/extract (in the case of a compressed file). I've been doing this for over 10 years now and have never drop files into the wrong folder. Plus it's a very easy way to extract compressed file to a specific folder.
Again, sorry for posting to an old thread. I just hope others find this useful.
