Novell network, mapped network drive tree navigation problem
OK. This one is bizarre. I have my "My Documents" folder located in a private folder on our Novell server. Within that is only one nested folder (F:\USERS\BSANDFOR\My Documents\Synchronized Files\Planning Files) for which this problem occurs. It does not seem to occur for any other folder on the server. Once I am in that folder, I cannot navigate to the parent folder by any means other than to return to "My Documents" and start from there. I get the error "The CPU cannot make any sense of the last input." The tree pane, backspace button, the "parent" button, and clicking on the parent folders on the path displayed above the main window - none of these work. The same is true for all subfolders of "Planning Files," and for all other subfolders of "Synchronized Files."

2xExplorer
2xExplorer doesn't have this problem by the way. Any luck on this one so far?

When I am in F:\USERS\BSANDFOR\My Documents\Synchronized Files\Planning Files and I click on "Synchronized Files" at the top of the pane, I get a last error of: "The CPU cannot make any sense of the last input. Windows error=2: The system cannot find the file specified."
When i click on "My Documents" at the top of the pane, it works fine. This behavior is the same whenever I get within the second level of nested folders within My Documents.
If it matters, I can at least use the back button to move up the directory structure in 2xExplorer, though in 2xExplorer I can't rename items within "Synchronized Files" whereas with Explorer2 I can.

OK. I guess this one got buried. I now have 1.1.0.0 and still have the same problem. I tried using a direct network address for the target folder of my My Documents folder, thinking that maybe there was something screwy about using a mapped drive type address. But nada. Same problem.
Just to reitertae, using new folders:
folder backspace clicking on
works? containing folder on
address at top of window
works?
F:\USERS Y Y
F:\USERS\BSANDFOR Y Y
F:\USERS\BSANDFOR\New Y Y
F:\USERS\BSANDFOR\New\New Y Y
F:\USERS\BSANDFOR\New\New\New N N
at this point of nesting and beyond, I get the aforemention error message. And here's another twist: for this example, if click on the address at the top of the window two or more levels up the directory structure, it works fine. For the example of the My Documents folder , this only works if I click on My Documents or above in the directory structure.
Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!
Any clues anyone? Any helpful questions? I really like and rely on xplorer2 so this make me a bit nuts... I want to keep my documents on the server so they can be backed regularly and automatically...

it is impossible for me to correct a problem i am not having
however you could try this debug version and check the messages in the dbmon stream (see the embedded instructions for the running procedure)
www.ps.ic.ac.uk/~umeca74/dbmon.zip
once you get the output, email it to me, including some "narrative" in the text, e.g. where did the folder change failed etc
