Love this program, particularly for the multiple panes.
Here's why I'm posting. It's not because I like to read my own inner voice on the screen. Rather, being a graphic designer I have thousands of folders to keep under control, so I like the 'detail' view for that. Also, I have even more thousands of graphics and images to keep under control, so I like the 'thumbnail' view for that.
What would make things really fine would be a quick key to switch between 'detail' and 'thumbnail' view. Who in their right mind -- and that includes all users of this program, of course! -- would want the other views, I don't know, but I suppose for consistency you'd need quick keys for those too. Anyway, the reason is, who uses 2 clicks for one operation these days...? Except in regular Windows folders, that is... !
And now for the part where I really act like the spoiled brat... how about a full screen image view, with conversions to JPEG, rotations and so on? So I can put ACDSee in the trash once and for all
... OK, Ok , forget I said that I'll go back to my room

Congratulations on this awesome program. Yes, I saw the way you suggested.
I also saw somewhere you have some custom key shortcuts in the works for later. I guess it's not something you can just do when nothing's on the TV that night..., so I'll look forward to that when it comes.
THANKS AGAIN

Not being a graphics designer; but being an engineer who uses graphics a lot to get my points across with minimal words, and having transitioned to digital photography -- I, like Mike Baxter, value both ACDsee & xplorer² (even though I have only 100s of folders with more 100s of pics).
I also find myself using ACDsee less & xplorer² more for browsing my pics.
So I had this idea for a new browsing mode: mirror browsing with twist (more like through the looking glass browsing). I want to make the view mode 'sticky by pane' so I could keep one pane in thumbnail view while the other shows the same folder in details mode, and the view mode.
What an idea! ... EXCEPT ... that when I removed the desktop.ini files that I have been using to force thumbnail viewing in my pic folders I discovered that x² already worked that way until I messed it up !!
Bottom line is just a tip for a 'different' way of browsing pic folders:
nikos, you're a genious.

This tip is already described in the manual since v1.0.0.1!So I had this idea for a new browsing mode: mirror browsing with twist (more like through the looking glass browsing). I want to make the view mode 'sticky by pane' so I could keep one pane in thumbnail view while the other shows the same folder in details mode, and the view mode.
