Problems with the font in console?

I am using version 1.0.0.95 [Unicode] and in the console there are some strange characters see picture below:



Any idea what might be the reason?

Yes the console is fully functional the only problem beeing the rectangle character. I tried with other font and same problem (curier new for example displays an empty rectangle). My machine is win 2000 professional, English.

It seems that the ascii code of the character is back space ( 08 )

could that be generated by a funny "prompt" or something? does it show after every command?

Yes is for every command. Is like in the place of the prompt I have the characters: space,backspace,space,backspace,space. I do not know about any "funny prompt". What do you mean by that?

are you using any prompt command? by default x2 turns the prompt off

Sorry not sure about what you are talking about. Can you be more specific. There is a way (option) to chage the prompt char or something? If yes no I didn't change it or at least I do not know about it.

This is what I do:
write $cmd in x2 address bar,
press enter: the console appears,
Write some commands etc

I can reproduce the problem any time so is not linked with a specific action I make.

that's your problem
this implicitly creates an extra processor which echoes its own prompt

to get a console without these problemos, just type something like $ dir or some other simple command like echo in the address bar. THen you'll get a cmd without the funny characters
