Automatic expansion when hovering on node

Post by CoolCatBad »

This is checked in options, but does not seem to want to work.
A directory in the left pane tree-view should auto expand when hovering over the +, should it not?

The automatic expansion applies only when you are dragging something to a folder in the treepane.  (see also narayan's comments here)

narayan,

The User Manual discusses open-on-hover nicely in the table under "Using the drag-and-drop method" (page 77); but later, on page 197, implies that the feature applies in general, not specifically for drag-n-drop.

I suggest rewording the description to something like:

Selecting this feature activates automatic branch expansion for drag-n-drop operations to the tree pane. When you hover the mouse on a node while dragging a selection, the node opens up automatically. You can drill down multiple levels down in this way to find the subfolder you want for your drop target.

Actually the description begins with "This feature is useful when you want to drag-n-drop a selection in a node:", so I though that defines the scope.

But I see your amendment makes it clearer. I have changed the text. Thanks.
