:shock: Find Files dialog messed up, bug.

I'm a new user of xplorer2. I tried to use the find operation and the dialog appears to me is messedup. The controls appears one above the other with no possiblity to operate the dialog and to use it.
I use Win2K.
xplorer2 version 1.1.0.2 [Unicode]

Also the rule based visual filter has the same problem and appears scrambled.

are you on an arabic locale?
one other user has reported this in the past but i can't figure it out...

I'm hebrew, but my locale is English (US) in the regional settings in the control panel.

When I open the find dialog I see controls overlapping eachother, the buttons cannot be seen and cannot be pressed. Also rule based filter dialog has the same problem.

I'm using an UNREGISTERED version which I intent to upgrade (buy) to full version and maybe recommend it to other users in my company. But I can't do that if basic features like find files are buggy.

Windows version:
Windows 2000 version 5 build 2195 Service pack 4.

xplorer2 version:
1.1.0.2 [Unicode]

Please help.

can you send me a snapshot of the dialog?

to be honest i don't know what is causing this
as i said you are only the 2nd person to report this and there are thousands of users out there

do you by any chance have "large fonts" for your desktop? what screen resolution are you using?

my screen resulotion is 1024X768. I tried to change it and it didn't help.
I use regular fonts.
I sow that my default locale is Hebrew so I'm tring to change it to English. I will tell you if it changed the situation.

GOOD NEWS!!!

after switching to default locale "English US" the dialog is now looking well.

So just for your knowladge the problem is when the default locale is not english, probebly right to left langs (Arabic, Hebrew). I think you should test the software on these windows versions.

BTW: if you still want the screenshots just send me a private message.

i'm glad this is fixed but still there's a mystery regarding the hebrew (or arabic) locale

unfortunately i'd need a special windows version to test it. My control panel only allows me to select "western" countries

You should be able to select those language locales after installing the complex script support via
Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Languages
[x] Install files for complex script ...
but you will need access to your OS CDROM or equivalent image files to effect the installation.

& there's a similar install option for East Asian languages (Chinese, Korean ...)

Nikos, If your hardware is up to it, you might consider installing VMWare or Microsoft Virtual PC, to be able to create virtual machines, so you can test on different platforms on one physical machine! (as mentioned, you need lots of memory to be able to run this comfortably)
