Some feature requests

Post by tsahil »

Hi,

I'm a new user of xplorer^2. I'd like to be able to do the following:

- Add an ability to open all new explorer windows inside the explorer^2 itself in a new tab. This means I'll always have only a single window open.

- Ability to handle the tabs like Mozilla - middle button press closes a tab, etc.

- Ability to move the tab to be on the top of the window instead of always at the bottom

- Add the visual filter to the toolbar for faster access.

- Ability to add external tools to the toolbar or actions menu.

some of your requests are already available

> move the tab to be on the top of the window

see DPF_TABSONTOP in registry.txt

> visual filter to the toolbar

just type it in there and press <return>

> add external tools to the toolbar or actions menu

you need the pro version for that; there you'll find a User menu where you can add commands which can also be placed on any toolbar

It would be nice to have some of those registry options available from the menus, but it does give me a solution for now - thanks  :D

As for the filter - what I mean is that on the toolbar, there will be an entry - not a button with the currently used filter (or a filter, with a button next to it allowing enabling or disabling it). This will reduce the need to go over menus and open windows to filter the file list.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm not in the process of purchasing the pro version through my company's long purchase procedures...[/b]

the addressbar itself accepts both paths and filters so there's no need for a separate filter input area

How about adding the ability to drag and drop tabs? This feature is again built-into Mozilla and is very useful
