Hi,
Thanks for the sort addition in 1103.
But why do I have to set this in the registry. Why not simple in the options window?
Thanks anyway!

My opinion? The code for making this sort of extra functionalities is written (very fast). But writing code for setting options, finding room on an options page takes much time and is no fun to do.
So I would say, make many very nice options, like sorting, and once in a while, dump all the options in a configuration window. There is a challange in writing a good configurations system too :D.

most of the options that are in the registry are meant to be once-off, stuff you won't be changing. One day i'll write a "tweakX2" tool that will offer user-friendly accesss to the registry
if you think that some of the registry options should be available from the gui you can try to convince me
and there could be another options page.

Well I don't see why less frequently changed options should be set in the registry. And btw I set most of the options once and don't change it anymore.
But if the reason is that it takes less programmingwork to implement new settings it is ok for me.
I have many wishes for changing settings in X2 and if the chance is bigger they get implemented with using the registry it's fine for me

Sounds nice, but after using the tool I lost F3 en F4 functionality for starting the editor (in view and Edit mode). And I did not made a backup of the registry settings first. Not a problem, I remove the keys for the editor and viewer and start xplorer2 again.nikos wrote:see this thread too: http://forum.zabkat.com/viewtopic.php?t=2520

After some playing with it. The tools looks nice, but is not complete.
Some minor problems I had with it:
New settings are (off course) not there, no documentation on what some of the options mean. Like what is a new refresh system? And ok, it is in the registry.txt, but if it is an integrated tool, it should be in the program.
And I use the xplorer2_UC, but how does this tool know I use that one? It is not an option?
And maybe a backup/restore option would be nice, without resorting to the registry editor.
It is a start, and a good one too. In the thread I added some of the remarks I had, so that the this tool grows better.
