Hi All,

First of all:
A happy and prosperous new year to all!

This is a very useful forum and xPlorer2 is a fantastic product. Many thanks to the developer and all posters here who are providing a much appreciated service to the users of this fine software. Last but not least: A thousand thanks to the peoples who wrote the pdf-manual: A hell of a job and...it's superb!

I am using this product for almost two years now and still find new features every day :D

Now my two Swiss Francs Cents regarding two small issues:

1. Since I am using the german language add on, I had the problem of not seeing the new Tab functionality (which, in itself, is a reason to switch to x2!) . As described elsewhere in this forum, I de-installed the software via W2K's control panel.  But holly heck: Not only was the software deinstalled, but also the entire subdirectory and a few personal files I elected to keep there! Also, all the user set preferences were, of course, relegated to binary nirvana.
IMHO, this is a wee bit too much of the good. Would it be possible to modify the de-install utility to just deinstall the software, but to leave the directory structure, together with the files not owned by x2 intact? Would keep my adrenaline at more user freindly levels  :?

2. From the install, I was not able to download the pdf-documentation. It looks like there is a wrong target hardwired into the install routine. It says: http://www.ps.ic.ac.uk/~umeca74/x2docs.pdf  but as gathered from another post on this forum, it's got to link to .../x2docs.zip

Again, many thanks for this fine product and all people helping keep things up!

generally any subfolders within the old installation are unsafe since they are going to be removed

generaly again from now on you shouldn't have any problem with language dlls, just overwrite the old installation; the german had a problem because the dll was renamed

the current uninstaller will ask you whether you want the registry entries removed; if you plan to reinstall then say no to the deletion!

the manual should be available in the next couple of days, sorry the server is down
