Nikos, I think longfellow is right. It is not the question of wwhether the latest version is available or not: Rather, the issue is, can I look at the website and decide if I have the latest application and/or manual? And given the current practice of keeping the same version number, the answer is "NO".
As I suggested before, we should identify both the application and the manual as Release Candidates if you want people to have a peek at any new versions.
These should carry the suffix RCn, so people can distinguish between these early releases and the final releases.(The n in the suffix allows us to have as many release candidates as required.)

Just to clarify:nikos wrote:i don't know how longfellow managed to get an older pdf that had 1103 on the title!
The older 1103 pdf (1.89 Mb) is the one I downloaded a few months ago with x2 1102. After downloading x2 1103, I checked for a new version of the manual, saw version 1103 listed, and assumed that this was the version I already had, and so didn't download it. Hence the confusion.
