"ALT+Enter" can be automatic?

I'm just exploring the X2 posibilities: anyone remember the old good one "Norton Comander"?

This one was very similar to X2 for DOS: two pane windows (left, right). In the left I could have a list of folder, and, when I select one of this folders, the right show the content of it.

In X2, this can be done with ALT+Enter.  So, the question is: X2 can, in some way, automatize this? so, when I select some folder in the active pane, the inactive pane show its content WITHOUT clicking alt+enter?

Yeah, I know. You will tell me "This is X2, not Norton Commander", but, as I say in the beginning I'm just exploring possibilities...

I really don't want to have the tree view open.
