Minor Tab Selection Annoyance

When running xplorer2 lite in dual pane mode, you switch between panes simply by clicking on the one you want. This also works when clicking on a tab in the non-active pane. That is, the non-active pane becomes active with the selected tab in the foreground.
With one exception.....
If you try to switch both panes and tabs, by selecting the foreground tab in the non-active pane, nothing happens.
This is a minor annoyance I know, but it causes me to be constantly selecting the active tab in the non active pane, then selecting a bookmark only to find I've changed location in the wrong tab (My brain keeps assuming that selecting a tab will make it active all of the time).
Is there any way to fix this, or is it a 'feature' I'm missing?

Got to take the oportunity to thank nikos once again for the tab function though. I can't imagine being without it now!

just click on the file pane itself, much bigger target!
or just hit <Tab> to switch panes
