Some minor suggestions

Post by jgutierrez »

- Support for storing preferences in a INI file instead of using the registry. It will be very useful for installing it in various machines and mantain automatically the same configuration.
- Possibility to show tabs at the top of the pane (such as Firefox, or ExplorerXP).
- Distribution also in a plain ZIP file without installer.
- Ability to show full path in the tab caption in order to facilitate the navigation.
- Add a ShellCombo to quickly change between special locations (Desktop, My Documents, My images, ...).

most these issues have been discussed before. If you use the search facility of this forum you'll find more details

to recap quickly:

* .reg files are equally as transferrable from PC to PC so you can have synchronized options (don't forget to check your licence if you use x2 on many public machines)

* see DPF_TABSONTOP in registry.txt

* the installer makes sure you understand the licencing agreement you are entering into

* for special folders just click on the "system" button on the main toolbar

now regarding showing the full path on tabs, that can't work since you'll be running out of space in no time. If you hover on a tab you'll see the full path as a tooltip

To add to that: for navigation the full (clickable!) path is shown in the pane titlebar of any active tab :)

To summarize the uses of clicking on the path in the title bar:

* Left click on any folder in the path takes you to that folder immediately
* Right click on the tile bar shows you a popup with history for that pane (per tab). You can left click on the path from the list to opene the folder in the active pane.
* Shift+Right click shows a popup with the entire path broken down, each folder on one line of the list. Handy if your path is too long to be displayed entirely in the title bar so you won't be able to Left click on a folder which is hidden from display in the title bar.

Enjoy! 8)
Dumb questions are the ones that are never asked :turn:

Sorry, I did not fully read the supplied PDF documentation.

Thanks.
