Visual problem (missing font?)

I get this problem in several dialogs.

you must be in some non-english or european locale?
i'm working on that for the next version
if you can afford to switch to a "simple" locale e.g. english, the problem will go away

can't tell why it happens to some...

I'm using the following settings:

Standards and formats: English (United States)
Location: United States
Languages: Right-to-left languages support installed
Language for non-Unicode programs: Hebrew

i am almost certain that it is this right-to-left support that's causing it, i'll get back to you on that

I think Nikos is right. I was beta testing a text editor and had some very corrupt menus which we finally traced to the fact that I had right-to-left languages enabled. Removing that and all worked fine.
