Visual BUg - scrolling many files up & down

Hi,

I've extracted a zip file that had more than 1000 files inside, each file was a zip file as well.

whilst i was scrolling the files down i saw that the icon representing the files (which was a win-rar icon) was replaced with a folder icon and then replaced back to the win-rar icon...

Nikos, even I have seen this in a different place:When you are rapidly scrolling up/down, x2 shows a folder symbol, which is replaced line-by-line (I use the details style) by the proper symbol.

This is more prominent in slow disks (such as USB-connected disks)

Is that to save resources, so that in case you are not interested in a particular part of the pane (or a folder), the CPU power is not wasted in generating icons?

In other words, x2 generates the full-blown icons only when it senses that you have settled down in  folder, and were not just "passing through".

Is that understanding correct?

i have not seen this but as i understand it is not a problem since the correct icon will be shown in the end

have you ever seen a scrolling list that icons changes whilst perfroming scroll? well i haven't....

icons should remain the same the entire scroll and not flash or change.....


in my opinion it is a bug....but you are the moderator so....i'll leave it up to you
