Suggestion: Provide A Hot Key for Show All

Post by rumsfeld »

Removing filters seems to me to a frequent enough task to justify a single hot key for alternate-view, show all.

Removing filters is a generic task, needed in file manager programs, news readers, and e-mail programs.  The closest thing to a standard that I know of is control-F9, which Luu uses in XNews.

I would suggest control-l since l is in "all" and that key doesn't do anything at the moment.

I, too, would like a one-stroke "show all" option;
but Ctrl+L is taken for show Link target (Find target of selected link);
... so for now the extra keystroke remains: Alt+V, O

I have posted this before, but here goes:

In the status bar,  there is a panel that shows the filter status (green funnel). Provide various filtering-related options (including "show all") through context menu here.

Preferably double click to dismiss filters :)
Dumb questions are the ones that are never asked :turn:

Again we see the need for many people to make our own shortcuts.

If every menu option could be associated with our own shortkeys, and toolbar button, everybody would be happy.

I hope Nikos can implement these functions in the future.
