Hello,
this is my first post in this forum so excuse me if I don't do the things properly.
I've got xplorer² for some weeks and it works well...or almost.
My configuration:
winxp sp 1
ie 6 + MAxthon + Firefox
I've got two problems (I tried the search function of the forum but did not find something usefull for me):
1. the preview of a .htm file is a txt one (very time)
2. when I try to launch a folder with a shortcut in a xplorer² pane, the folder is open in Windows Explorer and not in xplorer.
Are these problems known ? Thank you for your attention and an eventual solution :D

1a. (if every time, regardless of html file size)
You may have "Text only" selected in the Quick viewer context menu.
To correct: You can r-click in the QV pane & uncheck that option.
1b. (if only on larger html files)
The size of the html files you want to preview is larger than the limit set for thumbnails on Tools | Options... | General tab
To correct: set the size limit higher (or to 0 for no limit).
2. See: FAQ C1 and appendix 9I in the User Manual.

I did look at the "txt only" option and the html files are not so big (well I try with changing size limit and it doesn't seem to work either).
For the second point, I am a little surprised because the User Manual says page 61 "if the shortcut points to a folder, x² loads the folder in the active pane". (I have not read the entire Usual Manual yet, sorry...). I think it's a lack of the program if this feature does not exist and I'm not sure I'll try to modify the registry base.
Thank you again for the answer.

OK, I will take a look on this post (but it was not a big problem for me :) )nikos wrote:for the html preview problem see here
x2 should open folder shortcuts within itself. Does it happen to all shortcuts or just the slow (network) ones? Also try the <ctrl+L> command on such a shortcut
The shortcuts are folders shortcuts (program shortcuts have no problem), folders are on my harddrive.
When I try Ctrl+L I've got "this command needs a shorcut selected" message (sorry it's the french version of x² so I'm not sure of the translation) but I did select the shortcut...

I wonder if your MAxthonbrowser intercepts the folder shortcut ?
... with result that when it recognizes that the shortcut is not a target on the web, it hands the shortcut over to winExplorer instead of back to xplorer²

OK!!! I did disabled arrow icon overlay for shortcut :roll:nikos wrote:you wouldn't have tweaked/disabled the little arrow icon overlay for shortcut files, would you?
or does ctrl+L command work on file shortcuts?
It works perfectly now.
I tried the html preview tips but I must confess I'm not sure to have understand the method. Not a big problem...
Thank you again for helping me

Nikos, in the other thread (here), you mention this:nikos wrote:for the html preview problem see here

So, now it's going to make the faq list I presume! (Include the little script I provided please, the easiest way to fix the html preview issuenikos wrote:i don't think this is a x2 issue, but if the question comes up again i'll put it in the faq!
