ALPHA floppy seek on startup

Post by robwg »

I'm trying out the alpha version of xplorer2(1.1.0.6). The contents of Word documents showing in the preview window as text is just fantastic! I thought they'd show up as some sort of slow rendering preview which would have been better than nothing but this is much more useful.

The problem I've noticed is that xplorer2 now grinds annoyingly at the floppy drive when it starts up. Neither of the panes is browsing the drive. Looking at the debug window there is the following:
3140: >>>>> TREE: expanding node...
3140: *** TID=738, Generating folder instance '::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}'
3140: Filesystem path =
3140: Shell attributes: (0x30000000) FILESYSANCESTOR |
3140: DESCRIPTIONID: 1(ROOT_REGITEM) : {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
3140: Assigned folder type: FITYPE_NORMAL [forced]
3140: Folder CLSID: {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
3140: MINI-ASSERT: GetPidlType fails for: A:\
3140: MINI-ASSERT: GetPidlType fails for: E:\
3140: Enumerated 7 objects in the folder, code=1
3140: <<<<< TREE: node expanded (ok)
I tried turning off the tree and the problem went away.

Is it remotely interesting that E: (a Zip drive) is listed in the debug output but not D: (a DVD/CDRW combo drive) despite them both being empty?

Let me know if you need any more info.

no worries, this is a debug only over-checking issue
