Preview of JPEG SHows only Hexadecimal

Don't know why but my preview pane no longer performs very well. For all file types except BMP, the display shows only hexadecimal.

Anybody know wassup?

OS: Windows 2000
x2Lite Version 1.1.0.3 LITE

Does the preview pane not work for Office 2003 docs? The FAQ item doesn't mention them and I still have no preview of .doc and .xls.

I ran the internet repair tool as mentioned in the FAQ item

Also, I noted the Help Manual states that the MS Office file has to have the "Save Picture Preview" box checked under properties, but still no .doc preview. :?

office preview doesn't work well, especially for word documents
see the FAQ again for this

the new alpha for v1.2 is able to preview office documents as unformatted text, but this will be a pro-only feature
