this was out a long time ago but i recommended the older version since it seemed more stable and is much smaller download

both versions have bugs, e.g. they lock the files that are previewed and you have to quit x2 to delete them!

I've made bug reports to adobe, let's hope somebody will take heed for the v7 plugin!

Ahh! That makes more sense. The date on the website said sometime in 2004 and I couldn't understand why!

I thought it was they date they began posting the ifilter. OK. Thanks.

I will keep an eye out for those bugs. So far so good. Do you recommend I use version 5 or should I stick with 6? Are there any benefits of one over the other? I couldn't tell from the website.

i can't really tell which one is better
they had to make v6 to comply with XP's new com threading model, perhaps they cocked it up somehow!

i know that v5 filter sometimes can't read some PDFs. If you come across any such errant file, try to see if v6 will be better (although i doubt it)

for certain, resource-wise v5 is lighter to your system
