I've been using xplorer2 lite for a couple of weeks. I had also been checking out some anti-malware utilities and such. I had noticed that some of my usual file functions, such as cut & paste file/folder and delete file/folder, were starting to bog down. A simple file delete of a small download stored on the desktop was taking 20 seconds.
I was about to start removing some of the new applications (I manage my msconfig constantly so the problem was not there), when I wondered how Explorer compared to xplorer2 on the file deletion. I created a shortcut on the desktop and tried deleting it with both programs. Each took the 20+ seconds. However, when I closed xplorer2 and tried Explorer again, the deletion was in less than a second.
I am using WinXP on a 2.2GHz machine, with 512M RAM. Anyone have any ideas?
I see no notable difference in delete time bewtween winExporer, x2Pro & x2Lite on my setup.

HDD is a 2years-ago std issue 40GB HDD from Dell, now about 70% full.
I set up the same 70 files totalling 5 MB in three different temp directories and used each app to delete the contents of one directory.
In each case, all files disappeared from the display in less than 1 second.
