Bug/problem report
I found Xplorer2 on the internet and i am really impressed and i like it. :D
I do have 1 problem with it.
When you try to open a hidden share on a windows computer by the UNC path, it takes almost a minute to complete. :(
What i mean:
If i open a file-pane to the C: drive or D: drive, there is no problem.
If i try to open a hidden share by typing: \\computername\sharename$ it takes forever.
If i try to open a normal share: \\computername\sharename there is no problem, just like the driveletter.
It only is a problem with the HIDDEN shares, i.e. sharenames ending with a $ sign.

Windows Explorer does almost connect in the same time it normally connects as a drive letter.is your explorer faster with those hidden shares?
also all the cliches apply: reboot, check your firewalls/antivirus etc
Xplorer2 also does it quick with a driveletter, and quick with normal shares. Slow with hidden shares.
Disabling Firewall, antivirus etc does not help at all. Reboots don't help etc.
I did found out that it is only slow on the first time connect. If i connect a second time during that xplorer2 session, it is just as quick as anything else. After the 1st connect, it does not matter what share i connect to, everything is quick.
But if i close Xplorer2 and start it again, the first time connecting to a hidden share is slow again.
Very strange behaviour.

Well, i can assure you that the first time with windows explorer is NOT a problem. As i told in the previous message.i bet the first time you connect with explorer will be slow too
of course you never quit explorer so it's hard to tell!
Only in Xplorer2 i have this problem.
It looks like windows is trying to authenticate the session or something like that. If i have time tomorrow (i don't have time now), i will use a sniffer to see the ethernetpackages both with Windows Explorer and with Xplorer2 and also between a hidden share and a normal share.

Okay, it took a while, but now i have the etherreal capture files.
Were do you want to have them? 1 capture file from xplorer2 and 1 capture file from windows explorer. Both after startup, asking for a hidden url (like \\servername\username$)
What i see is that the moment you hit the ENTER, the active pane shows almost immediatly the right info, but Xplorer2 is still busy (cursor has changed) for about 2 minutes. In those 2 minutes, i see a lot of packages with DNS en HTTP requests and almost every server in the ARP cache is being questioned about the status (as far as i understand the log)
