this poor little duck (or should that be tux) likes Linux but it lacks a file manager anywhere like ex2...so there this person who should be having a life is sitting there in the console box and doing su and chmod and the rest of it until the early hours... don't suppose there's any chance of a port?
(I mean translation... but come to think about it us rank and file GNOME sufferers need a drink)
As it doesn't have the Micro$oft price tag Linux has a great potential for bringing the power of the internet and computing to the have nots of this world... but it's still so firmly in geek land there's not much chance of that happening...

Yes, this thread is very old, but maybe someone is interested in my experience with xplorer2 on Linux...
Some weeks ago, I tested xplorer2 on my Fedora Core 3 installation using the January 2005 snapshot of Wine. I didn't test all features, but it ran pretty well. Okay, AFAIR accessing the whole Linux filesystem with xplorer2 wasn't possible, but I guess the Wine team is working on that.
