That would be Ctrl+M
or Go to | Mirror browsing

I had tried that but it doesn't seem to sync up the panes after I click Mirror.

It works for me.
Are you starting from a 'matching' folder in both panes?
(when the relative tree structure is different, the mirroring turns off)
see: "Comparing directories with mirror browsing" in the User Manual.

I eventually discovered, as you said, that I need to start from matching panes. In 2xExplorer you didn't need to start from matching panes is there a way to get panes to match up in xplorer2 Lite ?

thank you.

I do not use 2xExplorer very much and I am surprised that it can find 'matching' folders for this operation. (Not being a 2xExplorer expert, I am unaware of (& could not find) a "Browse Identical" feature  :?
and when I tried mirror browsing in 2x, it does not find matching folders for me.)
Consider that the situation where mirror browsing is particularly useful is when the two nearly identical folder structures are located at different locations. One could be a backup archive of a folder structure you have locally, or a common multiuser project area on a remote server. It might be on CD or a portable SCSI, or a USB memory stick, or on a network connection.
Clearly, in my mind, it is up to the user to point the panes to the folders to be browsed in this manner.  I have no idea how 2x could have done it -- unless you are speaking of the trivial case where one is simple browsing the SAME folder in both panes, with the usability being that the panes are in different VIEW modes, perhaps one in details and the other in thumbnail view.  But that can be quickly achieved with Ctrl+I to force both panes to the same folder before invoking the Mirror browsing. (same as in 2xExplorer)

Yes, I was looking for the trivial use of pane 'syncing'. I didn't know that Ctrl+I did that in xplorer2 Lite....is there a toolbar button that will do it or a menu item that will do the same thing?

The network I use has directories that are 10+ folders 'deep' and I just find it quicker to 'sync' them up to the same level then navigate deeper or shallower on one pane to move files to the other pane.

thanks.

x2 (& -Lite) tends to be keyboard-control-centric in comparison to 2x which looks like a button-junkie's paradise.
So no button for this.
However, you can mouse to the menu: Go to | Same folder if you find that Ctrl+I is a bother.
And in x2-Pro it is possible to customize your toolbar(s) and add a button for most common controls, including Ctrl+I, which goes under the name "Force" ;)

@ 10+ folders deep ...
Sounds like a typical corporate network.
Ours averages 6-12 deep with occasional folders 20 levels down
