ftp transfert ascii

Hello,
juste one or two questions. I have to transfer some files on my site in Ascii mode but I don't know how xplorer manages this.
Second question: I use Maxthon for browser and if I launch a html file in xplorer, it's IE that is launched. How can I change this ?

Options | Maxthon Options… > General > When starting tab > “Set Maxthon as default browser”

ASCII is the default mode.

Note that you can enter the FTP command-line directly into the Maxthon Address Bar.

OK. In fact, I have just noticed that IE opens only when I' m in ftp mode. If I open an html file on my hard drive, it's my default browser (Maxthon) that it is launched. I don't know is it's usual.
